Tony has won the Daytime Emmy for leading actor six times!

THE EARLY DAYS   
Tony was born on May 29, 1947 in Coalville, Utah.  He attended the University of Utah on a scholarship in theater.  He was discovered by actor Jack Albertson who cast him in the play "The Subject Was Roses".  He has vast experience in theater and guest-starred in many 70's television series including a classic episode of "All in the Family" and the "Partridge Family" among other shows.  For a comprehensive listing of Tony's work check out the IMDB website it has some great info.  What happened next for Tony became a life-altering experience....
A BRIGHT PROMISE

In 1969 Tony landed a part on his first soap called Bright Promise and it was there that  he met a woman who would change his life forever.  Her name was Gloria Monty and Tony credits her with his career playing Luke Spencer.  Gloria hired Tony to play the part for 13 weeks.  What no one knew was that Ms. Monty had started something that was about to take the world by storm! With Gloria directing and her sister Norma heading up the writing team, The Monty's created a craze that swept the nation, Tony Geary found himself in a whirlwind as half of the supercouple Luke & Laura.  The wedding of Luke & Laura was the largest rated show in daytime history. Tony was nominated for the Emmy as Outstanding Lead Actor in 1980, 81, 82 and won his first Emmy in 1982.

Tony left GH in 84, during that time he had roles in movies and theater.  In 1990, Monty once again brought him to GH as a new character, Bill Eckert who was Luke's cousin.  In 1993, he came back to his most famous role and was nominated for Outstanding Actor in 1996, 97, 99, 2000, 2003, 2004 and 2006.  He won the Emmy in 1999, 2000, 2004 and 2006.  In 1996, Tony did a one-man show in Los Angeles called Human Scratchings, for which he received the Dramalogue Award. He voiced the character of John/Juan in Disney's 2004 Teacher's Pet movie.  In 2005, Tony starred in the movie Carpool Guy  directed by Corbin Bernsen to rave reviews.    The character of Luke Spencer continues to evolve and is still the most well known character on daytime television.  Tony lives in Amsterdam and when working on GH, he resides in Los Angeles.
